Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Iberdrola (BME:IBE), which rose 1.06% or 0.13 points to trade at 12.45 at the close. Melia Hotels (BME:MEL) added 0.66% or 0.05 points to end at 7.68 and Endesa SA (BME:ELE) was up 0.63% or 0.12 points to 19.17 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which lost 7.94% or 1.72 points to trade at 19.94 in late trade. Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) declined 2.51% or 0.23 points to end at 9.11 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) shed 2.21% or 0.27 points to 11.97.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 139 to 61 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.36% or 8.55 to $2,335.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.55% or 0.45 to hit $81.18 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.62% or 0.53 to trade at $84.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.34.
