Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (BME:REP), which rose 2.18% or 0.26 points to trade at 12.41 at the close. ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS) added 0.91% or 0.50 points to end at 55.50 and Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) was up 0.84% or 0.15 points to 18.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which lost 2.15% or 0.20 points to trade at 8.92 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) declined 1.76% or 0.52 points to end at 28.98 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) shed 1.58% or 0.12 points to 7.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 83 and 28 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.09% or 2.60 to $3,051.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.14% or 0.79 to hit $69.79 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.06% or 0.77 to trade at $73.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 104.02.
