FTSE 100 today: Index opens flat amid latest trade developments; pound above $1.36
Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which rose 12.63% or 1.06 points to trade at 9.45 at the close. Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) added 4.35% or 0.42 points to end at 10.08 and Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) was up 3.25% or 1.75 points to 55.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indra A (BME:IDR), which lost 4.03% or 1.46 points to trade at 34.76 in late trade. Bankinter (BME:BKT) declined 2.19% or 0.25 points to end at 11.14 and Sacyr SA (BME:SCYR) shed 1.96% or 0.07 points to 3.49.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 85 and 14 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.61% or 20.70 to $3,397.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.09% or 0.69 to hit $62.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.34% or 0.88 to trade at $64.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 98.72.
