Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 9.70% or 0.87 points to trade at 9.86 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) added 1.96% or 0.04 points to end at 2.08 and Mapfre (BME:MAP) was up 1.71% or 0.04 points to 2.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which lost 3.57% or 0.42 points to trade at 11.36 in late trade. Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL) declined 3.34% or 0.19 points to end at 5.51 and Repsol (BME:REP) shed 1.84% or 0.26 points to 14.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 99 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.51% or 36.15 to $2,361.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.99% or 0.82 to hit $82.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.76 to trade at $85.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 104.62.
