Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS), which rose 5.79% or 1.40 points to trade at 25.58 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) added 4.54% or 0.13 points to end at 3.08 and Banco Santander (BME:SAN) was up 4.41% or 0.27 points to 6.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iberdrola (BME:IBE), which lost 2.43% or 0.38 points to trade at 15.26 in late trade. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) declined 2.10% or 0.14 points to end at 6.61 and Endesa SA (BME:ELE) shed 1.98% or 0.51 points to 25.27.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 132 to 68 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 3.51% or 120.06 to $3,299.34 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.78% or 1.77 to hit $61.90 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.51% or 1.69 to trade at $65.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.74% at 99.43.
