Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.72% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS), which rose 2.71% or 0.57 points to trade at 21.58 at the close. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) added 2.49% or 2.10 points to end at 86.30 and Bankinter (BME:BKT) was up 2.48% or 0.19 points to 7.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which lost 1.91% or 0.19 points to trade at 9.83 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) declined 1.85% or 0.04 points to end at 2.07 and Sacyr SA (BME:SCYR) shed 1.22% or 0.04 points to 3.39.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 141 to 63 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.17% or 4.05 to $2,417.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.18% or 0.15 to hit $82.47 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.20 to trade at $85.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 103.81.
