Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 3.88% or 0.34 points to trade at 9.22 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) added 1.61% or 0.33 points to end at 20.87 and Acerinox (BME:ACX) was up 1.48% or 0.14 points to 9.27 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which lost 1.93% or 0.22 points to trade at 11.19 in late trade. Acciona (BME:ANA) declined 1.22% or 1.50 points to end at 121.00 and Telefonica (BME:TEF) shed 1.08% or 0.04 points to 4.04.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 72 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.21% or 5.25 to $2,545.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.13% or 0.83 to hit $72.34 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.87% or 0.67 to trade at $76.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.06.
