Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Materials and Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 2.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 8.83% or 1.2 points to trade at 15.4 at the close. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) added 7.04% or 0.30 points to end at 4.56 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 4.37% or 1.42 points to 33.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which lost 2.89% or 0.2 points to trade at 7.4 in late trade. Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) declined 2.12% or 0.5 points to end at 23.1 and Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OL:REC) shed 1.68% or 0.01 points to 0.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 66 and 18 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.59% or 0.51 to $31.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.73% or 0.25 to hit $34.16 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1239.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.05% to 9.5471, while USD/NOK fell 0.09% to 8.6578.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 97.44.
