Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Niznekamskneftekhim ao (MCX:NKNC), which rose 3.88% or 2.500 points to trade at 66.900 at the close. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) added 3.75% or 3.07 points to end at 84.86 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 3.26% or 24.00 points to 759.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which lost 2.93% or 19.30 points to trade at 639.10 in late trade. United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) declined 2.51% or 0.590 points to end at 22.900 and Gruppa Cherkizovo ao (MCX:GCHE) shed 1.95% or 16.0 points to 803.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 97 and 29 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.08% to 26.120.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.55 to $1318.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $43.91 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.19 to trade at $45.76 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.15% to 64.7546, while EUR/RUB rose 0.12% to 72.315.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.90.
