Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which rose 4.00% or 4.85 points to trade at 126.25 at the close. NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) added 3.43% or 37.60 points to end at 1,134.60 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 2.63% or 6.10 points to 238.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ozon Holdings PLC (MCX:OZONDR), which lost 1.78% or 76.50 points to trade at 4,228.50 in late trade. TKS Holding MKPAO (MCX:TCSG) declined 1.75% or 52.50 points to end at 2,939.00 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) shed 1.52% or 21.40 points to 1,383.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 149 to 96 and 8 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.56% to 23.94.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.30 to $2,338.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.25% or 0.21 to hit $83.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.07 to trade at $86.54 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 87.84, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 94.40.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 105.38.
