Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index rose 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX:ALRS), which rose 2.81% or 1.35 points to trade at 49.42 at the close. Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) added 2.28% or 22.00 points to end at 964.00 and ADS Ozon Holdings PLC ORD SHS (MCX:OZONDR) was up 2.24% or 63.00 points to 2,878.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL), which lost 3.08% or 1.04 points to trade at 32.93 in late trade. Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref (MCX:SNGS_p) declined 2.53% or 1.42 points to end at 54.61 and Moskovskaya Birzha PJSC (MCX:MOEX) shed 1.64% or 2.98 points to 178.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 133 to 105 and 15 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.85% to 44.61.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.20% or 5.19 to $2,653.59 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.65% or 1.13 to hit $67.17 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.43% or 1.03 to trade at $71.06 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.45% to 100.55, while EUR/RUB fell 0.65% to 106.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 105.96.
