Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.89% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 1.25% or 0.0690 points to trade at 5.5690 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) added 1.04% or 0.005 points to end at 0.485 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 0.33% or 0.0550 points to 16.9600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 3.07% or 0.0770 points to trade at 2.4340 in late trade. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 2.59% or 0.1000 points to end at 3.7580 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 2.14% or 0.280 points to 12.785.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.23% or 0.11 to $47.65 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.38% or 0.17 to hit $44.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.65 to trade at $1246.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1427, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8799.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 95.42.
