Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 1.69% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.3000 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 1.36% or 0.0032 points to end at 0.2380 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was up 1.27% or 0.006 points to 0.479 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 3.09% or 0.1010 points to trade at 3.1700 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 2.35% or 0.0560 points to end at 2.3220 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 1.89% or 0.0750 points to 3.8890.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.54% or 0.26 to $48.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.74% or 0.34 to hit $46.17 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.18 to trade at $1268.22 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1198, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 97.27.
