Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 1.11% or 0.03 points to trade at 2.54 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) added 0.56% or 0.05 points to end at 8.93 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 0.45% or 0.02 points to 4.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which lost 1.51% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.97 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 1.18% or 0.18 points to end at 15.08 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) shed 1.10% or 0.04 points to 3.59.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.83% or 1.35 to $75.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.09% or 1.46 to hit $71.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.58% or 15.10 to trade at $2,613.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 100.47.
