Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which rose 0.88% or 0.17 points to trade at 19.42 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged 0.63% or 0.00 points to end at 0.33 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) was up 0.60% or 0.05 points to 8.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (ELI:SEM), which lost 1.26% or 0.18 points to trade at 14.16 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) declined 1.09% or 0.10 points to end at 9.11 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) shed 1.07% or 0.04 points to 3.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 9 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $84.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.17% or 0.14 to hit $80.69 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.75% or 17.45 to trade at $2,313.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 105.67.
