Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which rose 1.26% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.63 at the close. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 0.87% or 0.02 points to end at 2.32 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) was up 0.59% or 0.08 points to 13.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (ELI:SEM), which lost 1.09% or 0.16 points to trade at 14.56 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 1.07% or 0.05 points to end at 4.16 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) shed 0.85% or 0.03 points to 3.48.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.17% or 0.15 to $87.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.33% or 0.28 to hit $84.16 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.06% or 25.00 to trade at $2,394.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 104.64.
