Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.31% or 0.1040 points to trade at 2.0640 at the close. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) added 3.06% or 0.095 points to end at 3.195 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 2.10% or 0.3000 points to 14.6100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 3.30% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.3520 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 0.40% or 0.0170 points to end at 4.1900 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 0.11% or 0.0040 points to 3.7830.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 29 to 8 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.44% or 0.24 to $54.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.33% or 0.17 to hit $51.20 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 9.85 to trade at $1248.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.0650, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.8539.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 100.60.
