Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.26% or 0.0560 points to trade at 1.7720 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 0.98% or 0.0280 points to end at 2.8820 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.91% or 0.0230 points to 2.5590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 2.16% or 0.0670 points to trade at 3.0280 in late trade. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 1.83% or 0.0470 points to end at 2.5260 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.58% or 0.1850 points to 11.5500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 19 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.27% or 0.14 to $51.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $50.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.32% or 3.95 to trade at $1257.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1039, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.9031.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 97.65.
