Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.51% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 2.74% or 0.08 points to trade at 3.00 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.89% or 0.19 points to end at 10.23 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 1.07% or 0.03 points to 3.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which lost 0.91% or 0.05 points to trade at 5.47 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.72% or 0.12 points to end at 15.83 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) shed 0.37% or 0.03 points to 7.99.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.80% or 0.61 to $76.54 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.29% or 0.94 to hit $74.07 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 12.94 to trade at $2,656.06 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 108.76.
