Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 1.65% or 0.07 points to trade at 4.30 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 1.62% or 0.31 points to end at 19.44 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) was up 1.09% or 0.21 points to 19.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which lost 1.29% or 0.12 points to trade at 9.18 in late trade. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) declined 1.02% or 0.06 points to end at 5.34 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) 0.91% or 0.00 points to 0.34.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 11 to 11 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.87% or 0.73 to $85.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.99% or 0.80 to hit $81.53 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 10.35 to trade at $2,341.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 105.18.
