Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 1.85% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.36 at the close. Semapa (ELI:SEM) added 1.24% or 0.18 points to end at 14.72 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was up 0.88% or 0.02 points to 2.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which lost 1.47% or 0.28 points to trade at 18.82 in late trade. Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) declined 0.36% or 0.03 points to end at 8.31 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) shed 0.25% or 0.01 points to 3.58.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 6 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.13% or 0.11 to $87.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $83.87 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 3.30 to trade at $2,366.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 104.81.
