Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS), which rose 1.45% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.49 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.44% or 0.13 points to end at 9.14 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 1.31% or 0.08 points to 6.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which lost 4.50% or 0.38 points to trade at 8.06 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 1.22% or 0.20 points to end at 15.78 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) shed 0.53% or 0.08 points to 15.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 1.94% or 1.48 to $74.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.08% or 1.51 to hit $71.19 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.73% or 21.04 to trade at $2,896.84 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 107.29.
