Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.19% to hit a new 5-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 10.01% or 0.41 points to trade at 4.55 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 2.23% or 0.20 points to end at 9.18 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was up 2.14% or 0.02 points to 1.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 2.68% or 0.25 points to trade at 8.89 in late trade. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) declined 2.24% or 0.14 points to end at 6.12 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) shed 0.95% or 0.08 points to 8.33.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 9 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.89% or 0.58 to $65.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.13% or 0.70 to hit $62.67 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.40% or 44.49 to trade at $3,231.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.65% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 100.28.
