Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 1.99% or 3.70 points to trade at 189.75 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 1.83% or 1.46 points to end at 81.25 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 1.12% or 0.21 points to 19.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 4.80% or 0.16 points to trade at 3.17 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 4.64% or 4.35 points to end at 89.50 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 3.99% or 0.64 points to 15.41.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 355 to 202 and 122 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.26% or 0.11 to $43.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $49.12 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.47% or 5.20 to trade at $1117.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.50% to 4.1633, while USD/PLN fell 0.15% to 3.7602.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 96.85.
