Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Energy and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which rose 2.40% or 0.14 points to trade at 5.98 at the close. TVN SA (WA:TVN) added 2.29% or 0.38 points to end at 17.00 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 0.47% or 1.75 points to 370.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which lost 6.97% or 1.88 points to trade at 25.10 in late trade. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 3.08% or 2.15 points to end at 67.60 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) shed 3.02% or 0.48 points to 15.39.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 328 to 248 and 106 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.82% or 1.61 to $58.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.20% or 1.43 to hit $66.06 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.35% or 4.30 to trade at $1209.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.40% to 4.0122, while USD/PLN fell 1.26% to 3.5931.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.34% at 94.90.
