Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Banking and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.93% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 2.93% or 0.19 points to trade at 6.68 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 1.72% or 0.10 points to end at 5.92 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.49% or 1.05 points to 71.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 4.34% or 3.36 points to trade at 74.14 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 3.31% or 6.00 points to end at 175.00 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) shed 2.76% or 0.94 points to 33.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 328 to 228 and 103 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.51% or 1.50 to $58.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.74% or 1.79 to hit $63.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.44% or 17.40 to trade at $1187.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 1.07% to 4.1487, while USD/PLN rose 2.01% to 3.8142.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.94% at 97.36.
