Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which rose 1.95% or 6.10 points to trade at 319.50 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) added 1.71% or 6.20 points to end at 368.70 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 1.39% or 1.06 points to 77.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included mBank (WA:MBK), which lost 2.89% or 13.85 points to trade at 466.15 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 2.62% or 0.90 points to end at 33.50 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) shed 1.93% or 1.28 points to 65.02.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 299 to 202 and 178 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.56% or 0.26 to $46.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.66% or 0.32 to hit $48.74 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 8.65 to trade at $1242.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.10% to 4.1980, while USD/PLN fell 0.97% to 3.6258.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 94.32.
