Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Media, Chemicals and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 5.07% or 1.39 points to trade at 28.80 at the close. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 2.85% or 1.57 points to end at 56.57 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 2.70% or 4.00 points to 152.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU), which lost 7.36% or 1.95 points to trade at 24.55 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 2.07% or 1.35 points to end at 63.81 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 1.69% or 0.43 points to 25.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 273 to 262 and 193 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.15% or 1.01 to $48.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.87% or 0.92 to hit $50.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.45 to trade at $1321.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.33% to 4.3103, while USD/PLN rose 0.09% to 3.8334.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.30.
