Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 2.26% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.52 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 1.99% or 0.44 points to end at 22.59 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 1.95% or 0.58 points to 30.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which lost 3.13% or 2.72 points to trade at 84.28 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 2.18% or 0.09 points to end at 4.03 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 1.68% or 1.00 points to 58.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 280 to 265 and 117 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.64% or 1.40 to $51.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.10% or 1.24 to hit $57.45 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.75% or 8.60 to trade at $1144.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.02% to 4.1307, while USD/PLN rose 0.40% to 3.7670.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 97.23.
