Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Energy and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 2.86% or 1.86 points to trade at 66.86 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 2.13% or 0.100 points to end at 4.800 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.78% or 2.00 points to 114.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 3.44% or 0.86 points to trade at 24.14 in late trade. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 2.99% or 10.65 points to end at 345.05 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 2.94% or 0.37 points to 12.23.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 245 to 243 and 191 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.83% or 0.37 to $45.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.61% or 0.29 to hit $47.83 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 4.70 to trade at $1244.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.18% to 4.2370, while USD/PLN fell 0.19% to 3.7100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 95.49.
