Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Energy, Food and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 2.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 234.00 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 158.00 and X Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski SA (WA:XTB) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 68.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which lost 7.46% or 0.64 points to trade at 7.93 in late trade. Text SA (WA:TXTP) declined 5.37% or 3.00 points to end at 52.90 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) shed 4.33% or 1.03 points to 22.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 363 to 160 and 102 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 2.61% or 1.81 to $71.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.27% or 1.65 to hit $74.41 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.14% or 35.59 to trade at $3,149.89 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.39% to 4.19, while USD/PLN rose 0.57% to 3.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 103.93.
