Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food, Chemicals and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 4.04% or 0.38 points to trade at 9.79 at the close. Orange Polska SA (WA:OPL) added 3.16% or 0.24 points to end at 7.90 and Allegro (WA:ALEP) was up 1.85% or 0.69 points to 38.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pepco Group Nv (WA:PCOP), which lost 2.38% or 0.53 points to trade at 21.72 in late trade. mBank (WA:MBK) declined 2.28% or 14.20 points to end at 609.00 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) shed 2.27% or 0.30 points to 12.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 275 to 213 and 111 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.66% or 0.53 to $80.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.46% or 0.39 to hit $83.83 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.88% or 20.60 to trade at $2,310.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.52% to 4.32, while USD/PLN rose 0.81% to 4.04.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 105.71.
