Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.95% or 2.45 points to trade at 85.45 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 2.43% or 174.00 points to end at 7326.50 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 2.41% or 1.60 points to 68.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which lost 2.13% or 0.50 points to trade at 22.95 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.11% or 4.00 points to end at 186.00 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 0.78% or 0.20 points to 25.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 320 to 235 and 125 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.00% or 0.59 to $59.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $65.62 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.53% or 6.30 to trade at $1188.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.08% to 4.0483, while USD/PLN rose 0.46% to 3.6065.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 94.77.
