Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Technology, Oil & Gas and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 2.31% or 1.30 points to trade at 57.52 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 1.88% or 0.69 points to end at 37.30 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 1.75% or 0.11 points to 6.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 2.04% or 162.00 points to trade at 7788.00 in late trade. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 1.51% or 1.95 points to end at 127.00 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) shed 1.45% or 1.20 points to 81.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 356 to 272 and 76 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.48% or 0.29 to $60.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.83% or 0.56 to hit $66.25 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1225.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.83% to 4.0744, while USD/PLN rose 1.75% to 3.5920.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.80% at 94.04.
