Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 4.03% or 285.00 points to trade at 7350.00 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) added 1.61% or 0.37 points to end at 23.30 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was up 1.10% or 0.94 points to 86.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 3.86% or 1.49 points to trade at 37.15 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 1.53% or 0.55 points to end at 35.30 and Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) shed 1.47% or 1.65 points to 110.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 343 to 220 and 103 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.58% or 1.53 to $60.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.83% or 1.85 to hit $67.47 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.84% or 9.90 to trade at $1192.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.33% to 4.0940, while USD/PLN fell 0.43% to 3.6421.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.68% at 94.47.
