Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.13% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 2.81% or 0.45 points to trade at 16.45 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 2.50% or 0.15 points to end at 6.15 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 2.37% or 2.06 points to 88.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which lost 1.85% or 2.10 points to trade at 111.40 in late trade. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 1.56% or 1.85 points to end at 117.00 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) shed 1.36% or 0.52 points to 37.73.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 300 to 272 and 106 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.78% or 0.45 to $57.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.24% or 0.79 to hit $62.66 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.37% or 4.40 to trade at $1198.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.06% to 3.9918, while USD/PLN fell 0.07% to 3.7135.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 98.06.
