Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 4.72% or 0.69 points to trade at 15.30 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 4.47% or 3.77 points to end at 88.20 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.58% or 1.20 points to 77.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which lost 2.63% or 1.36 points to trade at 50.35 in late trade. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 2.38% or 184.35 points to end at 7550.00 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) shed 2.05% or 0.42 points to 20.07.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 277 to 264 and 113 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.90% or 0.86 to $46.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.04% or 0.52 to hit $50.03 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.20 to trade at $1091.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.60% to 4.1684, while USD/PLN rose 0.52% to 3.8045.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 97.52.
