Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.46% to hit a new 3-year low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Bco Continenta (LM:CON), which rose 5.08% or 0.150 points to trade at 3.100 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) added 3.53% or 0.030 points to end at 0.880 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 2.19% or 0.150 points to 7.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 10.00% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.072 in late trade. Sider (LM:SID) declined 6.45% or 0.010 points to end at 0.145 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 6.36% or 0.019 points to 0.280.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 6 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.10% or 0.04 to $42.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $48.59 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.40 to trade at $1117.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.08% to 3.2447, while EUR/PEN fell 0.12% to 3.5894.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 96.99.
