Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which rose 5.26% or 0.300 points to trade at 6.000 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 5.00% or 0.030 points to end at 0.630 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 4.08% or 0.020 points to 0.510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 5.56% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.180 in late trade. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 3.00% or 0.150 points to end at 4.850 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) shed 1.69% or 0.060 points to 3.560.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 6 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.15% or 0.94 to $44.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $50.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.89% or 9.70 to trade at $1103.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.05% to 3.2035, while EUR/PEN fell 0.03% to 3.4997.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.45% at 97.22.
