Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Credicorp (LM:BAP), which rose 3.54% or 5.120 points to trade at 149.550 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 3.45% or 0.020 points to end at 0.600 and Sider (LM:SID) was up 2.86% or 0.008 points to 0.288 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bco Continenta (LM:CON), which lost 3.74% or 0.130 points to trade at 3.350 in late trade. Ferreyros (LM:FER) declined 1.31% or 0.020 points to end at 1.510 and Edegel (LM:EDE) shed 0.77% or 0.020 points to 2.580.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 3.84% or 1.78 to $48.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.44 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.77% or 10.20 to trade at $1314.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3030, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6835.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.37% at 96.19.
