Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 4.47% to hit a new 3-year low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA), which rose 6.87% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.2800 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) fell 1.09% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.4550 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 2.37% or 0.2450 points to 10.1000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which lost 6.19% or 0.6340 points to trade at 9.6010 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 5.88% or 0.0550 points to end at 0.8810 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) shed 5.65% or 0.0560 points to 0.9350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 46 to 4 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 1.61% or 0.49 to $30.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.24% or 0.61 to hit $26.84 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 4.95% or 59.10 to trade at $1253.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1347, while EUR/GBP rose 0.91% to 0.7845.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 95.46.
