Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Media, Telecoms and Diversified Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.99% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA), which rose 6.92% or 17.7 points to trade at 273.5 at the close. Telenor ASA (OL:TEL) added 4.38% or 6.2 points to end at 147.7 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS) was up 0.94% or 1.3 points to 140.2 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA), which lost 3.70% or 2.00 points to trade at 52.00 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) declined 3.51% or 0.60 points to end at 16.48 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) shed 2.98% or 0.19 points to 6.19.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 76 and 27 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.70% or 0.32 to $45.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.32% or 0.15 to hit $46.81 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.26% or 3.45 to trade at $1332.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.13% to 9.3692, while USD/NOK rose 0.68% to 8.5064.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 97.09.
