Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 5.00% or 0.65 points to trade at 13.65 at the close. Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) added 3.66% or 9.99 points to end at 280.00 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was up 3.57% or 0.62 points to 17.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES), which lost 3.90% or 2.65 points to trade at 65.30 in late trade. Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) declined 2.75% or 0.17 points to end at 6.10 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) shed 2.12% or 2.80 points to 130.99.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 12 and 70 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.42% or 0.77 to $53.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.21% or 0.68 to hit $55.74 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.15 to trade at $1256.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 3.67% to 334.630, while USD/NGN fell 0.66% to 314.900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 100.91.
