Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Insurance, Banking and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT), which rose 2.61% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.57 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 2.35% or 0.08 points to end at 3.33 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was up 0.66% or 0.97 points to 147.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which lost 3.68% or 1.00 points to trade at 26.30 in late trade. Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) declined 3.00% or 0.030 points to end at 1.000 and Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) shed 2.91% or 0.51 points to 17.01.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 31 to 19 and 52 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.98% or 0.88 to $45.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.06% or 0.97 to hit $48.31 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1131.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.65% to 223.860, while USD/NGN fell 0.04% to 199.000.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.07.
