Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Insurance and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.23% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 4.94% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.850 at the close. Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) added 3.94% or 0.25 points to end at 6.60 and Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) was up 1.57% or 0.25 points to 16.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which lost 1.25% or 0.31 points to trade at 24.70 in late trade. Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) declined 0.55% or 0.70 points to end at 127.15 and Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 63.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 8 and 54 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.32% or 0.60 to $46.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.20% or 0.58 to hit $48.96 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.29 to trade at $1228.31 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.26% to 344.930, while USD/NGN rose 0.63% to 319.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 98.56.
