Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa), which rose 0.47% or 0.110 points to trade at 23.700 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 0.11% or 0.04 points to end at 37.19 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.09% or 0.01 points to 17.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 2.88% or 1.29 points to trade at 43.43 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 2.84% or 0.60 points to end at 20.55 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) shed 2.29% or 3.05 points to 129.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 35 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.06% to 11.89.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.41% or 0.69 to $49.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.94% or 1.00 to hit $52.49 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 9.29 to trade at $1269.29 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.1748, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8951.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 93.23.
