Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which rose 4.37% or 53.00 points to trade at 1,267.00 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.43% or 15.00 points to end at 631.50 and Relx PLC (AS:REL) was up 1.97% or 0.84 points to 43.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which lost 2.53% or 0.57 points to trade at 21.95 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.07% or 0.35 points to end at 32.31 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) shed 0.86% or 0.35 points to 40.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 49 to 46 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.34% or 0.92 to $69.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.22% or 0.89 to hit $73.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 14.00 to trade at $2,665.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 107.07.
