FTSE 100 today: Index rises, GBP higher, Burberry recovers, GSK falls
Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which rose 5.97% or 0.46 points to trade at 8.16 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) added 1.17% or 0.48 points to end at 41.50 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) was up 1.12% or 0.56 points to 50.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which lost 4.71% or 0.44 points to trade at 8.91 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) declined 3.10% or 1.07 points to end at 33.50 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA) shed 1.77% or 0.92 points to 50.93.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 146 to 89 and 21 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.98% or 32.70 to $3,376.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 5.08% or 3.30 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 4.98% or 3.33 to trade at $70.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 18.91, while EUR/MXN rose 0.04% to 21.73.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 98.62.
