Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA), which rose 5.52% or 2.43 points to trade at 46.44 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) added 2.95% or 1.53 points to end at 53.47 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) was up 2.21% or 4.81 points to 222.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO), which lost 3.34% or 1.73 points to trade at 50.05 in late trade. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) declined 3.22% or 1.61 points to end at 48.41 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) shed 2.22% or 0.93 points to 40.97.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 135 to 87 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.74% or 24.40 to $3,330.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.90% or 1.14 to hit $61.05 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.70% or 1.07 to trade at $63.91 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.46% to 19.44, while EUR/MXN fell 0.27% to 21.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 100.26.
