Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which rose 3.32% or 4.43 points to trade at 137.98 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 2.74% or 18.42 points to end at 689.58 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 2.57% or 0.560 points to 22.370 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 1.97% or 0.39 points to trade at 19.36 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 1.27% or 0.300 points to end at 23.340 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 1.21% or 0.380 points to 31.030.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 137 to 123 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.83% or 10.42 to $1266.82 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.82% or 0.89 to hit $49.79 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.36% or 0.70 to trade at $52.16 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.10% to 18.5228, while EUR/MXN fell 0.23% to 20.6994.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 97.35.
